Default 1940 ford on off ignition lever to 1941 column shift pickup truck swap question

Question is how does the on off lever come apart? The lever tip or knob looks to be either pressed on or is it screwed on?
Dont want to force it.

Swapping the internals from a 1940 passanger car coulmn drop to a 1941 ford pickup column shift drop. ( its different from the 1938 to 1947 pickup floor shift coulmn drop)

Got everything out but the lever and the way the on off plate is the lever must be in 2 pieces

Or, does it not come apart and the badge is dropped over the lever then turned into position for the drive rivits?

After comparing the internal parts, the 40 car is not compatible with the 41 truck coulm shift. Must be a 1 year only unique part all together.

Thats what happens when you leave stuff out in the weather

Pulls straight off. It’s on a splined shaft.
