Default Hub Production History

Pulled the rear wheel hubs today. Found that the are different. Someone must have replaced on somewhere along the line.

One side has 1/2" groove. Perfect for the red flanges on a Mitchell puller.

The other has a groove slightly smaller that 3/8." I had to grind the faces of the smaller black flanges. Highly recommend the Mitchell puller.....two sets of flanges, solid construction, large hammer/bump spot.

Anyone know the history of the hubs used? Changes from 28 thru 31?

I have one of those pullers with two halves and a sleeve that goes over then. It fits the groove type hub but not the shoulder one and one of my cars has one of each so when I need to remove the hub, I'll be in trouble.
Does anybody have a more detailed diagram of the Mitchell puller please. They say it will do any of the hub designs so I think that might be my savior so long as they are strong enough. Are they?

Synchro,
In post #2 the attached file is the Mitchell drum puller. The problem is the text refers to green and black components and they are all black.
