Default Rear end

The rear end in my 37 pick up has zerk fittings near the backing plates on the rear end. I have heard many things about how much grease to put in them, possibility of grease getting on brake shoes.
Do others grease these zerks?
If so how much?
A few pumps of the grease gun?

Thanks.

If you want to just do a few pumps, don't go overboard , or don't bother. Really no right or wrong don't empty half a cartridge in there OR you will have problems.

I take the hub off and repack the bearings by hand when I do the front bearings. The grease zirk was not a good idea and Ford blocked the holes in 39 or so.

Those holes were blocked because the grease ended up dripping on the brake shoes in spite of the use of grease retainers.

As the guys have mentioned, these zerks were not one of Fords better ideas. I would not recommend using them at all.
