Default Original interior

I have a 48 ford coupe that is all original. The interior is in fair shape so i would like to put the clear covers like my dad put on all his cars. He would order them and all he did was slip them over the seats. Does anyone know any one that still sales them?.

LeBaron-Bonney about $215 plus shipping etc. for a two door freeze your butt, burn your butt seat covers. I think the only thing they protect is from liquid stains because the friction will still wear the seat cover materials? Only my opinion.
I have original mohair interior on my 1933 and am concerned about keeping these seats nice too. Don't know if clear plastic or vinyl in the way to go..Maybe mohair butt coaSTERS WOULD BE BETTER. iNDIVIDUAL SEAT NAPKIN THAT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL, NOT TOO NOTICABLE. aH, JUST enjoy your car, that car won't last forever but neither will we!

I agree with Frank. Don't know where you live but clear plastic is very uncomfortable even with the factory air conditioning slot it the cowl wide open. I would just find a nice type of cloth and maybe cut to fit a bit and go with that. Can remove it at shows etc.

A number of years ago, I found a terrycloth seat cover for a split bench front seat at one of those ‘big Lot’ type stores. I used it in my ’46 TuDor Sedan and aside from the color not matching the rest of the interior, it worked well. I also have an original set of the plaid seat covers (that I got from Steve’46) that I installed in my ’47 Convertible…

Jerry. The guys aroundhere buy heavy blankets in their choice of colors and have the local upholstery shop cut them up and make slip covers that work very well and if the grand kids spill a milk shake or whatever on them the cover goes into the washing machine. just have them sew strings into the edges to pull covers tight that go over the cushions.

My Dad had them installed on a 64 Buick Special wagon he bought new. It already had vinyl seats as it was. Hard as a rock in the winter and you stuck to them in the summertime heat! When I started driving the car in 1971, the first thing that went in the trash can was those covers!

Back in the 60's Fingerhut seat covers were a must for the few that could afford a new car.

Off topic, I bought a 53 Ford back in the mid 60s. Had seat covers installed and they were showing a little ware, so I removed them. To my surprise the seats looked like the covers were installed when the car was new and the original seats had never been used!!
