Default Model 94 carb question

I have cleaned and rebuilt a model 94 carb [several times] using Charlie's video from Vintage Speed. new parts, gaskets, float adjustment etc. It starts and runs great, About 30-40 seconds after i shut it off, gas will leak out of the throttle body until the gas in the bowl is gone. It appears to leak from the throttle shaft, which has very little play. What am I missing?

Thanks for looking.

This is the other Charlie...from NY.
My rule of thumb regarding excessive clearance between the throttle shaft and it's
bore in the base is to remove the shaft and check the bore at both ends using a .281

diameter plug gauge. If the plug gauge enters the bore it is time to install an oversize

throttle shaft. The bore in the base is opened up using a succession of line reamers
until the correct size is achieved.

Lots of issues with power valves.... the only source for reliable pv's in my experience
is DAYTONA PARTS....386 427 7108....
Remember a 94 must be vacuum tight between the base and bowl. Performance can
get dodgey quick when vac leaks occur

Charlie, Thanks for the info. You did a model 97 carb for me a year or so ago, works perfectly on my 37. I just had a box full of 94's, that came with my 39 coupe, thought I'd try my hand at rebuilding one or two. I guess I'll stick to my day job. Are you still doing rebuilds? And how's car you bought in Oswego? Ernie
