Is this 1924 touring car completely stock?
It’s been so long since they were produced, and so many accessories were produced for them, it’s though to know what a factory original T looked like.
At a glance, it looks like this car is 99% box-stock T: The only things I spot are the outside mirror (an accessory), and the wood-finish wheels (an option). Do you spot anything else? -Dave |

I believe the running board step plates were also an optional item.... Chris

But factory optional, and not an accessory, right?
I see now that the car has an interior rear-view mirror also, which I believe was an aftermarket accessory. -Dave |

Re: Is this 1924 touring car completely stock?
Non-standard is I suppose a matter of semantics.
Originally the rims would not have been painted black, they would have been zinc plated and bright. |

Re: Is this 1924 touring car completely stock?
That T has been cosmetically restored, but certainly not to factory original look. Lots of things are off.....all of the accessories pointed out are aftermarket, not Ford. Ford provided no options in '24 except late in '24 the mirror on the windshield frame was avail. Other stuff wrong......radiator is missing the Ford support steel across the bottom from frame rail to frame rail, the radiator is a modern flat tube.
Demountable rims are painted, should be zinc plate, along with the bolts. Tube valve stems should be long metal with dust caps. Upholstery vinyl is nice but too over padded, not like original. Steering wheel sure looks like the '26-'27 17" dia too. |

Re: Is this 1924 touring car completely stock?
I never owned a "T" just a number of Ford "A"s. Never drove a "T" or took a ride in one but plan on doing so this year. Always looks to be fun driving in one. I have had Model "A"s , sport coupe ,Vicky, standard roadster ,tudor sedan and now pictured with my name a 1930 Deluxe Phaeton. Never know whats in ones future???

Peter If I'd known you hadn't had a T ride & drive I would have offered you one YEARS ago! I agree with the above metioned non standard "as it left the factory" items. The radiator filler neck and cap would have been nickle plated along with the hub caps and spark & throtle rods. There is something wrong with the upholstery around the arm rest area IMO. Sure wouldn't mind having it.

Re: Is this 1924 touring car completely stock?
Hello roadster62 , i would like to have this "T' correct or not. I bet some of the 1,500 N.O.S. sheet metal parts that Frank pulled out awhile back out of upstate N.Y. Ford Dealership that closed in 1932 is on this car! :>).Now that was a haul !
