Derek, can't help with the steering wheel but you have more heat to come. 44C here today and just north of us, 45 tomorrow. (That's 113F) It just occurred to me that you might want to get out quickly if there was a cold beer just out of reach.

Just been over in Melbourne. Too hot for me!! I am dying here in Auckland at 30 Dec C
Dave and Trudy Vestal met us there and we virtually spent 2 days sitting in nice cool pubs. Trudy is going to offer a meeting room at The Nugget in Sparks for a Ford barn meet as Quickchange suggested. She will contact Dave McArthur (Davey) to arrange as he was in on the original idea discussed here for the MAFCA meet too.
Trudy and Dave did the negotiations with the new Nugget owners for the meet. It sounds to be fantastic from what they told us about the money being spent to reco the hotel and the facilities available all on one close-knit site.

Would a fatman steering wheel do the job? Or does it have to be quick release?
Can usually find a fatman wheel at the flea markets. Jeff

Hey Quickchange, you might want to consider putting a “85 to “88 Pontiac Fiero steering wheel on the A. I did it to my ’72 Honda 600 and it made a world of difference. I no longer have to fight that steering wheel with my legs when I get in and out, and it looks pretty good, too.

The Fatman steering wheel is a great looking (but expensive) quick release wheel made just for the purpose you need it for. There was one recent past in for sale ads. I have also seen one on ebay. Nice piece of equipment, IMO.
