Can’t keep it running no power
Can’t keep it running no power Some history it’s a 1931 Model A Model speedster standard engine high compression head mechanical spark advance duel updraft model B carburetors fuel tank is in the rear has a fuel pump 12 V system when you go to start it you have to
Over choke it to get it to run and to idle you have to screw the Gav out 2 1/2 to 3 times and run with a half choke will settle down (stop choking it )and you accelerate and no power when I put it together it ran fine The beginning of last summer it was running fine then Near the end of the summer it started acting up during the winter I reset the timing I went through all the things that I could think that might be wrong now took it out today and we’re back to square one Any ideas |

It could be sucking air somewhere. I would first check your intake manifold gaskets, Carb to manifold gaskets. I have this issue with two stroke engines a lot. You have to keep them choked to run.

Re: Can’t keep it running no power
You have a fuel pump problem or fuel blockage, or carb plugged up.
On a side note, once a car is timed, it never needs re timed. Never have figured out why folks always want to retime their Model A anytime it quits. Last time I timed mine was 22,000 miles ago. Drain your gas, check fuel pressure, clean carbs and you should be good to go. |

Re: Can’t keep it running no power
Intake gasket leak. Also try a gravity feed test tank. If the tank fixes it then your fuel system need attention. The 12v pump should be at the tank.
