Default 1940 Ford convertible rear wood bow

This is a simple question -- I have a wood bow for the rear of my convertible - but am unsure which direction it goes in -- it has a thick side and the other side is tapered. You help is appreciated - an installed picture from the inside would be wonderful!

The easiest way to tell is the recessed (undercut) area goes to the back.
