Default '36 Ford radiator hoses

I've got a stock 36 rad in my 36 coupe, the top rad hose bungs are under the tank and point pretty much straight down. I have a 39 flathead in it so the outlets on the heads are in the center, same as a stock '36 motor. I haven't been able to find anyone that has replacement hoses for this or even the dress up hose kits. A guy can probably make them up with exhaust pipe and rubber bends but that get's pretty expensive buying complete hoses just for the bends. Ideas???

The usual fix is to use flex hoses.

Yeah I was thinking of that, but hoped maybe there was a better looking alternative. Thanks!

The '36 hoses are in the front of the engine and straight. The hoses connect to the water pumps mounted in the front of the heads from 32-36. You will probably have to use 2 sharp 90 degree hoses with a pipe connection or bend up some exh pipe as you mentioned

Here pics of the later flathead in my old 35 sedan(orig rad) and 36 coupe. The 36 had the Walker rad in it.I got the hoses at NAPA.I took an old wire coat hanger and bent it to the shape I wanted then went to NAPA and found what would work.Hope this helps.

A hose to use with the later flathead in earlier car has been on the market for some time now. Sorry I don't have the part number. Made by Gates. Napa has same hose but a different number.

How about posting the NAPA part number for that hose.

I used Gates #21253 as upper radiator hoses when I installed a 59ab engine in a '35 Ford tudor sedan. I bought these hoses from NAPA but don't have their crossover number handy. This would also work with a '39 engine in a '36 passenger car. If you use the search function here and plug in "gates radiator hose" you will find many other posts on this same subject.

This is perfect and much appreciated! Ed Pitts posted a thread and mentioned Gates 21253 uppers and 20151 for the lowers. He also mentioned using a Napa fan bely # 22545 when using a fan mounted alternator. Thanks again!

Tried finding this hose across Canada through NAPA and another parts house using both part numbers and nothing around anywhere!
