Default Been on the back page

The Model A page that is. I still love my fleet of V8s, but couldn't resist this thing for the price. I started out with an AA ford when I was 19, and this is the 4th one I've owned.

It was on the mainland about 15 miles from the ferry terminal. I have a friend who has the triple A contract on the island and he runs stuff back and forth for service. He hates to come home empty!

And newc , I put the triangle on it along with a flashing yellow light that I made from a tractor light with a 12v sealed beam 4" fog light. The bug has an alternator and that is one bright light. Of course I plan to hit the road to visit all my buddys at this end of the island. Probably should adjust those brakes first....

Now you have to go out into the woods, cut down a tree and drag it out. ASAP!!

I love that thing. Nice to see you "live" too. It's good to be able to put a face and voice to the name.

Mart.

Thanks guys... I love this thing too. Been having fun 'accessorizing' it with old oil cans, wrenches, a peavey, lanterns and today an old galvanized hip roof tool box mounted just behind the front bumper, leaving room for the crank when needed.

That's pretty neat. Have you tried to skid any logs with it?

Might skid some logs tomorrow. Here is that 'hip roof' tool box, just mocked up for now. Like everything else on this heap, it's 'in the perfect state of disrepair'...

That tool box is cool. I have seen many different styles made in my 40 years as a sheet metal worker. The men in the shop would make these for themselves and their friends. This was usually done when work was slow in the shop.I worked in a shop in the 70's that made copper table lamps for a restaurant and would get an order of 20 or so. The bench mechanic would make an extra 20 or more because everyone else would want a couple. Mark

Ahhh.....I get it now....the cover is like a hip roof!!....I thought you meant it had a shape to the bottom that sat over the peak in the roof. When you said it left room for the crank...I figured the crank would go under the “peak” in the bottom of the box....Hope you had a good Holiday.....Mark

I like the little thing! I know we say it all the time but man if it could talk....lived out it's life as a truck until it most likely wasn't worth fixing to living in the woods dragging trees.
