52 f 1 p/u electrics
I m starting work on a project from last summer 52 f 1 all wiring has been replaced with original repop I m using a mustang tank between the rails I think the truck is 6 volt didn't do the mechanical what besides the generator bulbs power reducer for gauges and voltage regulator do I need to change also is this positive ground

I've not done this, my 6v pos gnd '55 Bird was converted before I got it.
But here's a link to how it's done on those. FYI: your newer fuel tank sending unit probably won't work with the older fuel gauge, they function in different ways. Not sure exactly what you are asking. Yes originally they are 6V positive ground. If changing to 12v then don't forget horns, heater motor, starter solenoid and wiper motor. Starter can take 12v. I would take an original gas tank sending unit and modify for mustang tank as the original gauge will not work with any modern senders.

I figured the gauge is an issue I did a conversion on my 55 merc wagon but that was a few years ago
