Default Rods

I have just picked up a8BA Block with a mercury crank this motor is apart . Included in the mix is a full set of 8BA pistons and rods . my Question is are they compatible ? Thank you in advance.

Kahuna has it. The wrist pin is located in a different position for the 8BA type rods they share so they will have proper piston to cylinder head clearance.

the crank has 5/8 plugs and it has a stamping on it I think it is 1cm

The 1CM would indicate the crank that came out for the Merc-O-Matic in the 1951 model year. The earlier ones weren't marked. On them, a person had to go by the characteristics of the clean out bores and the width of the counterweight cheeks or the throw of the crank pins if you have a way to check them.
