Need help with Running board welting please
Hello A Gang; I am trying to figure out exactly how to install the welting between the front fender and the running board splash shield, on a 1930 Tudor. Hopefully my picture will post, what this is, is a view looking at the front edge of the running board, where it bolts to the front fender.Your foot would step on the very top of the image, and the dotted green line is about where the front zinc trim strip would go.
What I am unsure of, is the position of the welting , at locations "A" and "B". If the welting just dives down on the top side , then does it come out at the weird angle "A" I have marked on the bottom side? Then at location "B" , does it just butt up solidly to the frame, as I have drawn, or does it fold over somehow? I hope this makes sense,Thanks ,Kev |

Re: Need help with Running board welting please
What I have done.
For each end of the welting, carefully separate the glued together portion exposing about 3/4" of the core material. Cut off the exposed core. Fold back the covering material at about 45* and staple with a desk top stapler. This leaves the end of the core covered and looks nice. If I understand your photo correctly..... The finished (as above) end is burried in the joint at the edge of the apron / fender at point A. At point B, I continue the welting onto the frame, with a finished end. Hope this makes sense and helps.
