Locking door handle question
Two part question on a replacement handle from Ecklers I recently received. Looks nice, fits nice, first problem though is once I remove the key the handle locks consistently. Put the key in in the unlocked position and I can open the door, lock it and it is locked, put in unlock position with key in and can open door. Remove key in the unlocked position and the handle locks. I'm thinking its defective -disappointing, but wondering if anyone else has experience this or am I doing something wrong.
Second part - the screws. I bought replacement screws and they seemed a little longer than the rusty ones I pulled out. I put in the screws, and it locks up the opening mechanism (when you turn, the latch starts to move but it hits the screw pathway, thus stopping the door from opening). Again, is this normal, or do I just have to cut the new screw to avoid the interference? |

Re: Locking door handle question
I'm returning it and purchasing another from another vendor. Hopefully this will work better than my first order.
