Default NOS parts Christmas present to Fordbarnes

Here is a Christmas present to all Fordbarners, while supply lasts, of two NOS seals for Ford rear drums 1928-48. More than I will ever use. I am giving two seals to anyone who would want a pair. (one pair only each) Just send a SASE (when's the last time you saw that) with appropriate postage and I will send you two of these rear drum seals, free.. They appear to be graphite impregnated. Just send a PM for my address and after Sunday and I will see how much the postage will be. I tried sending some small parts in an envelope with just first class postage it wouldn't go with the clerk, so I will check postage on Monday.

MERRY CHRISTMAS . That is a very generous offer from you! I am not familiar with where they go but am getting close to having to deal with the rear for a 36 chassis I am working on. Can you share what their purpose is for and where they go specifically?

These fiber washers are the packing material to prevent the rear end grease from leaking out the axle shaft. These go over the axle shaft and seat in the brake drum, look at the drum there is a recess to accept them. It is the last thing to go on before the washer and axle nut.

Here's an illustration showing where the recess is.

Here's what I found out at the PO for sending the rear drum seals to you. The postage is 71 cents. The additional 22 cents is because it is supposedly not machine sortable. Do NOT send any money in your SASE, put the postage ON your return envelope, I am trying to avoid standing in line at the PO buying odd stamps. PM me for my address.
