Default 1939 MODEL 91A Hand Throttle Linkage

The one and only time I attempted to use the hand throttle, it leaked gas where the linkage connects to the carb. From what I observed and what I have been hearing, it looks like there may not be a fix to this. Before I replace the carb,
is there a way to prevent this from leaking other than just replacing the carb or just not using the hand throttle?

MCB,
The throttle shaft and base are no doubt worn...very common with Ford 94
style carbs. The solution is fitting an oversize throttle shaft very routine.
