Default Rear Window Garnish Removal

Good day. I would like to remove the Rear Window Garnish Molding on my 30 Coupe so that I can re-paint. Question: Upon removing all the screws, will the glass remain in-place? Thanks. Steve

Steves.. I have a '29 Special Coupe, and in my removal of either quarter window or rear, the glass will stay in place if it was properly set. There is a glass setting rubber, from suppliers, to use on installation. Follow re-set instructions and you should be able to accomplish this. .. kb

Probley, the garnish does hold the window in place but most likley the glass setting rubber will be somewhat stuck to the body. Might even be a little stuck to the window garnish. Why not just pop the glass out and replace the rubber now ? The new rubber will probley be less $ than the paint your going to use for the garnish's

Are your qtr windows safety plate glass? If not a good time to update. I did my qtr and rear windows a couple of years ago, now have safety plate all the way around.

When I replaced the rubber in my rear window, it took some pushing from the outside in to get the window out. In my case the garnish molding was not keeping it in.
