Default door window rattle

I have a 31 Cabriolet and drive most the time with the top off and windows down. I get a constant window rattling noise in both doors. I haven't taken the door panels off yet, but wonder what parts I need to buy before the tear down. I imagine there are window channels available from the A parts stores. Any suggestions?

10:1, it sounds like your window channel felts are toast or need shimming. Think the window opening in to large letting the glass rattle around within the felt channels.

Regards
Bill

Another outstanding resource and a very knowledgeable fellow on Cabriolets is Bill Underwood ([email protected]) just out of Chattanooga. He has re-done several of these Cabriolets, and is an outstanding resource for both parts and assembly/fit recommendations. He has also made a few of the parts for the 68-C (and perhaps other models as well), and was kind enough to help with re-doing a set of window felt channels for me for our slant windshield '31. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Are you referring to a straight or slant windshield 31? Side window assembly completely different depending
BTW..none of that is available from parts houses.

Where can I get new window channels for a '29 Murray Deluxe Town Sedan?
Glass broke on passenger side and I do not want to put new glass in until the channels can be replaced.

Two things help. Squeezing the channels as others have suggested. Plus putting strips of cardboard in back of the channels. They can be glued to the channels. This also helps with the window winding up as it does not cock in the channels and bind. Try to estimate how much cardboard to add before taking things apart and cut as many strips as necessary.
