Re: Want to buy a '54 Mercury Monterrey 302ci V8 but the overflow is dripping?
I see enough to run from it. Ragged edges on the turned in fender lips in the rear, evidence of bondo overlay on the turn-under of the fender, major rust in the floor pan.....

Re: Want to buy a '54 Mercury Monterrey 302ci V8 but the overflow is dripping?
40cpe is right, I let the photos of the exterior deceive me, and I spoke to soon. there is a LOT of rust in that car , and will take a lot to repair it. there is enough showing to convince me that there is probably 2 times as much more that you can't see. there is also a poor repair to the frame for the left rear rear spring hanger . front tires are a bit to wide and are rubbing the anti-roll bar on the rt and lt front. not sure what is up with the fuel tank straps. looks like they are encased in bicycle tire tubes. after seeing all the pictures , I probably would not buy it. you would likely spend 20-30K to repair and repaint the car correctly if you cannot do the work yourself

My browser won't open the URL's.
Most likely best as I don't need to see more cruelty to FOMOCO.
