Default 1942 pickup question

On the 1942 pickup hood, it had a Ford script badge on the trailing edge (one each side) rather than the pressed script of the post war pickup hood.
Now mine has the holes but I don't have the script, is the script same size And hole clocking ad the 1939-1940 passenger car hood script?
I believe the 1939 is all chrome and the 1940 has red painted sides to the script, I assume the 1942 script was all chrome, same as 1939.
Am I heading in the right direction here?
Many thanks.
Martin.

Martin,

The 1942 hood script is not the same as the 1939. The script is larger and approximately 1/4 inch in thickness. It mounts with two pins on the backside. They were made out of a pot metal substance that is very brittle. I've been looking but have not found an original set in good condition. I'm in the process of working with a metal processing company to make a couple of sets of this hood script. This is what I have so far. I will keep you posted.

Hi,these days it's probably easiest and cheapest to have them laser cut ,rather than casting them. That way you could have them done in steel and simply chrome plate them or paint them according to your preference.
