High volume oil pump
My problem is, will a mellings high volume oil pump fit in a 8rt truck oil pan with the rear sump and the big clean- out. Does it have the clearance to the bottom of the oil pan? Ol Ron send me your phone # please. My e - mail is crazybill58@ msn.com. Thanks, bill

Re: High volume oil pump
I wouldn't use a Hi volume Mellings oil pump on any application!! The "Stock" 8BA pump provides enough presser to cut a crank in half.

Re: High volume oil pump
No real reason to use it . . . the 49-53 8BA pump is more than adequate for any application and it fits the stock oil-pan without mods.
Also, you can buy the necessary pickup from Speedway for the 39-48 pans. |

Beware that the pickup tube is many times not adequately welded to the end flange and results can be very bad when the tube drops off the flange and falls down into the oil pan. |
