Tarp for 28ccpu
With the way the economy is going, it's possible I may have to move my 28ccpu from a storage stall to my garage, where I currently keep my car. The problem with that, is it's a very dusty environment in my garage, due to my woodworking there.
Is there a suitable cover for the model A that you know of? On the plus side, the garage is heated, where the storage stall isn't...any comments about that? eog |

Re: Tarp for 28ccpu
I bought a "Budge" car cover from a company advertising on line. Paid about $125. and ordered the 1980s Ford Bronco cover. It fits loosely. It has great ratings for water, UV and is triple layered. It's warranty is for five years and has lasted six years in the California sun. The wind is what destroys it. Stay Away From Plastic Tarps! Good Luck. LRF

Ford Bronco sounds like a good match for the profile and size of a Model A pickup. This is indoor storage, but a dusty environment. No problems with sunlight there! Should last for years. eog |

Re: Tarp for 28ccpu
I made a cover that goes right to the floor in an effort to beat the dust. It kinda works but dust will get in anywhere.
I second staying away from a plastic cover. They sweat and cause rust and damage the paint.

I bought a cover from California Car Covers for my Roadster. They make specific covers for all Model A’s.

Re: Tarp for 28ccpu
If it's going to be inside then covering it with the super light painters plastic that you can get in bulk rolls works well. Yes I know it is plastic but it's not a heavy tarp like what some are thinking of. I've used it on many occasions and have not had any issues at all with moisture under it.
Get a few refrigerator type magnets to secure the plastic in strategic spots.

Re: Tarp for 28ccpu
Don't reuse the painters tarp unless you are absolutely sure it has nothing on it. I was caught with too many cars, one sitting outside and no where to store it inside. Here in CA rain is so rare I thought I was safe, anyway went out and put what I thought was a clean piece of very thin painters plastic over my coupe and scurry back to bed. The next morning I didn't check the car until I had left it there for a couple of hours in the sun. A tiny bit of oil was on the plastic and I have to rub out the paint now as black shows every flaw. And the oil isn't the easiest damage to paint that I have tackeled in my life.
