Default Search process

I have a question, but figured a search would yield answers already posted. My objective is to find threads dealing with different types of top material, and ideally a tutorial or Youtube video about installation. I went to search > advanced search and typed in top material. Up came a gazillion posts each containing the word top and/ or the word material, none of which had anything to do with top material. I tried putting a quotation mark before top and after material, but that didn't help. I also can't find any search tips if such even exists. My mission at this point is dual--find info about top materials and how to install it, AND how to operate the search function so I don't have to post a thread like this again. BTW, I have the same problem on the other forum. Thanks in advance.

I have had better luck googling Model A Ford blah blah.

Google “model a ford gav valve operation” and a world of information pops up.

Most of it from the BARN. That works better than the Barn “search” for me.

Google “installing a top on a model a” You will see what I am recommending.

To search FordBarn using a big search engine, you can restrict your search results to a single domain.

On Google, enter "site:fordbarn.com" after your search terms.

On Bing, enter "domain:fordbarn.com" after your search terms.

Russel Reay, You didn't indicate which model and year car you have. As an example, the roadster, Vicky, and sport coupe used a canvas cloth material and most of the closed cars used a vinyl coated cloth material with a grain pattern. I went on line and googled "Model A Ford Top Material" and found many sites giving supplier references and how to information. Some sites have videos showing replacing the wood and installing the covering.

Appreciate all the feedback. I do a lot of googling, and am reasonably satisfied with the results. My interest in searching this forum (and others) is that the subject du jour is usually narrowly focused, and addressed by real owners with real experience.
