Installing window in channel
I am going to install window glass in the lower glass channel. Did this forty years ago and recall difficulty getting the glass to remain held in the channel, any tips or recommendations from the experts?

Re: Installing window in channel
I bought a pair of lower channels from Little Dearborn for a customer, and the glass with setting material fit perfectly. I stood the glass vertical on the carpet, then used a hammer and wood block to tap the channel into place.

Sikaflex, Henry would have used it if it had been invented back then.

Re: Installing window in channel
I use 3m channel bonder,, especially made for doing this job..
You also need to be able to remove the glass from the channel if ever needed.. Using a heat gun along the metal will release it... Last edited by Mitch//pa; 08-25-2016 at 06:22 PM. |
