Default 1940 Ford Interior color

Were all 40 Fords originally made with the same interior upholstery colors, the brown tones??
I am restoring a 40 Ford coupe and I have the original seat, with some of the original materials still on it. The seat is really shot and needs to be reupholstered. I have the deluxe model and am doing the dash with the original maroon and sand colors and the garnish moldings to faux wood graining finish.
The outside paint is the original Lyon Blue , which is a dark navy color.
So my question is did Ford always use the same seat upholstery color(brown) regardless of the exterior paint color. Did they ever use a blue color family for the interior upholstery, door panels and headliner , especially with Lyon blue exterior paint??
Does anybody have a Lyon Blue exterior painted Ford and what colors are your interior??
Thanks for any help , suggestions on this.
Steve

You can request samples from LeBaron Bonney. Give them a call.

Steve, I think the brown mohair fabric material or optional leather were the only options. No colors till later years. Others may know for sure.

I think that the DeLuxe car was available in either broadcloth or mohair, both would be of a striped material in a brown tan color. Leather was an option, brown also.

I have a '40 tudor. It has been restored with Mac's Cartouche in gray. The gentleman, 86 year old in Florida, who had it restored told me it came with gray interior. That was a surprised to me. But, hey, what do I know? So, I have a black car with gray interior. It looks good............

I think Kube should chime in here. My belief is that the deluxe cars were outfitted with what most would call light brown or tan interiors regardless of the paint color, at least that is what I have seen on the concourse. I looked through my 1940 dealer's showroom album and while they describe all about the seat and mention mohair and broadcoth they don't mention the color! The drawings show a light color.

Deluxe Broadcloth or Deluxe Mohair then there are Deluxe side wall cloth and Deluxe headliner cloth. Even leather as an option. There is a photo of the Ford Upholstery sample sheet in the restoration book page 3-1.

Terry has pretty much summed this up. Deluixe Broadcloth and Deluxe mohair were the two interiors offered and both were in fact a shade of tan.
Leather, saddle tan only, was available but was discouraged by the company. It was suggested to be retailed at $35.
It has been suggested by many, and I believe it to be true, that there are more leather interior '40 Fords (closed models) now than were ever produced in 1940.

Lebaron-Bonney is perhaps your best source for (nearly) authentic materials.

I have attached two photographs. The complete interior is mohair within a Lyon Blue deluxe coupe. The seat, by itself, is broadcloth.

Terry,OH.....the picture you posted shows blue tones on the bottom row? Is that right?
Was blue tone upholstery an option?

Looks like the Blues were for Mercury, at least that's what the chart says.
