OK, got it. The pics are super helpful. I saw such type reamers on ebay but wasn't quite sure how they worked. Great to see them in action in your photo. I am picking up mine from the machine shop tomorrow. Perhaps next time (car) I will buy a reamer. Will see what the shop charges me.

I have both type reamers, but I like my adjustable reamer better. Just sayn.

Since for me the machine shop is two separate ferry trips and a lot of waiting, I still prefer to use my wife's 5/8" diameter wooden spoon with a saw kerf down the length with a strip of sanding belt inserted. This apparatus is driven by a socket in a cordless drill. I have now done 5 sets, three for me and two for other cheap buddies. It is very easy to control and I can get a fit such that when wiped clean and oiled, the pin drops slowly with gravity. But that's just me.

She still doesn't know it's missing. It's a 24 mile round trip to the hardware store for a 5/8 dowel, so I just raided the crock full of spoons on the counter. She made me take my old BSA thumper out of the living room when we got married, but she redeemed herself with her welding skills. First girl in her high school to take welding in the mid seventies. 3 years and she's quite good!

I just bought a set of NOS king pins/ bushings/bearings and the bushings are steel not brass. What goes? These were for 37 spindles but will fit others.

More than likely brass in an outer steel shell.

They probably are wartime production, sintered steel/iron, I got a set of A kinkpins that way
