Default Death of a Legend

After a long fight with lung problems, Judith Durham of The Seekers fame had died at the age of 79. IMO, one of the purist voices in popular music and a favourite of mine. RIP, Judy.
A couple of her songs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrLTe1_9zso In this one, the listener needs an understanding of Australian history to fully appreciate the words but there are not many here who do not know the words Judith sings from about 1:45.
A sad day.

I loved her voice and their music
“I Will Never Find Another You” is a song that means a lot to my wife of 53 years and I!
Judith and The Seekers were special in USA
Thank you Australia

I agree with you, mate! The Seekers were a class act and were so talented. This was pop music at its finest and I'm glad I grew up during this special time. I especially loved their harmonies, the blending of their voices and instruments and the way they performed.

One of our all-time favorite groups and singers. Judith had one of the clearest voices ever….loved their songs and what a treasure for Australia she was.

The Seekers were a term for Australia in Germany.

A great team, a beautiful woman with a fascinating voice.

That brought back the memories. So sad to hear of the passing of Judith Durham. For me, it was a reminder of our youth back in the 60's and the passing of all our lives. I have a very good Model A friend who is in need of a lung transplant and is having great difficulty in finding a hospital that is willing to do the procedure, something about his health insurance and their restrictions. Thanks for sharing.

My mother liked them, so that was the instant kiss of death when I was growing up.

"I know I'll find another you" was sung at my first wedding. Only lasted 2 years. My Ex is now on her third husband so not sure if she is still looking for another you or not. Regardless, I still really like the song. Sad to hear of Judith's passing.

The Seekers were the first group I listened to at age 13 when I got my first guitar. “I’ll never Find Another You” was the first song I learned to play. Judith’s voice was so clear - all the girls in my 7th-grade class were emulating her. And the sound of that 12-string guitar….I wanted one from the time I first heard this song. What memories this news brings back !

It is not a good time to be an Australian singer. Just as well I can't sing a note.
Olivia funded the construction and development of a hospital for breast cancer treatment and research here in Melbourne, something not mentioned in this.

Apologies for the ad at the beginning.

Wow, I just heard about her very gifted family. She understood the importance of medical research when she established the cancer treatment facility here maybe because her father won a Nobel prize for his work in medical research. IMO, stand out people usually come from stand out families.
