Re: Wanted steering box
Be sure you know how to identify the box. They look like a '32 but the location of the bolts where they attach to the frame is "clocked" different. There is a section for "wanted" that you might use instead of the general discussion, https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18

Hi
I live in Portugal (Madeira Island) but my cousin lives in Castro Valley. A few feet from Hayward. Can you send me your information to my email? [email protected] Calling from Portugal is very expensive. Regards Gil |

Re: Wanted steering box
Hi Nick
My Ford V8 has a right hand drive because it came from South Africa. I'm changing the steering wheel to the left side. For that reason I need a steering box for the left side. Tomorrow my cousin will call you. Regards |

Re: Wanted steering box
An alternative may be the box from Neils Hot Rod Shop in CA. Look on the web and check out instagram nhrp32 His box is not original as Nick may have.

Re: Wanted steering box
Another alternative is a Series 3 Land Rover box. A friend just replaced his in his '32 roadster. In the UK they have LHD and RHD available. The only thing is making a light switch/horn function. Also The shaft and tube might have to be lengthened. Here is a link.Pictured is the RHD . The 3rd link is a pic of the LHD although it says RHD.Its clearly a bolt in. LHD Land Rover parts are readily available in Spain and France and I would think Portugal also.

Re: Wanted steering box
Hi
Land Rover alternative is a good idea. The problem is that it is not original, and the lights and horn have to change. Thank you for your help. |
