The rear upper shock mount stud, part #18152 on page 658 of the green bible, it looks like it goes all the way through the rear crossmember from flange to flange, is that right ? Anyone know the overall length of it.
Also, how about the special long square headed bolt, shown as 2248 ?, anyone know the length of that one.

I wonder? What model/year is the rear shock mount stud relative to?
I have tube shocks on the rear of my '36 that are attached to the '47-48 Columbia and studs in the rear cross-member. As I recall the cross-member mounting studs are from a '71/72 F100.

A number of years ago I installed the long upper mounting stud in my '38. It does go all the way through the cross member. A larger hole is drilled in the rear face of the crossmember to insert the stud into, and a smaller hole is drilled into the front face to accept the smaller stud. It has been a while and I don't remember the details but I can take a look. I have since returned to original shocks so the studs are there "just in case".

The bible says the app. is 1947-1948.

The rear cross member on 46-48 is boxed so you have to go all the way through. Real bear to get the nut on the rear with the gas tank in.

This is a drawing I did of a 48-50 F1 rear upper shock pin. I'm not sure if they were identical in 47.
The pin goes right through the frame in those years.

Someone should be able to cross reference the part number to see if the pin is the same for a 48-50 F1 to whatever your application is.

Aftermarket replacements were unavailable last time I checked.
