Default '35-'40 rear spring identification

Is there a source that I can use to identify rear springs from 1935 to 1940 as I have a number of them, but not sure of the years. Thank you.

Russ, Ford springs have tapered ends. They also have a number stamped into the very top leaf. That number will help you determine the assembly application.
The "green bible" is perhaps arguably, the best referencing source for this task.
Just my opinion, but most used springs have very little value so if yours are in fact, used, I'd suggest you don't spend much effort on their identification.

Russ, the NOS front spring I have has the part number stamped in the top leaf. I have also used the chassis parts books 1928-37 and the "Green Bible" to get the details of the different springs and see what body styles they went with. I have also used the spring chart, page 45, from "The Early Ford V8, As Henry Built It" by Edward Francis and George DeAnglis which covers 1932-38 models.

Info from an old Hot Rod Magazine article, the dimensions are for the free length, not installed-

‘35-‘40 44”
‘41. 41 1/2”
‘42-‘48. 43”

The figures are not verified by me, let us know what you find.

Free length is not a good way to determine application, especially used condition springs.

Thank you. Not all the springs are used, so I will keep that that in mind. I have waded through the green bible spring app. section in the past. Lots of combinations
