Default AA dual wheel removal?

I have removed the outer wheel from the AA, but how do you remove the inner wheel of a dual wheel truck? Do the studs get removed, or does the wheel and drum get removed as one?

I am looking to remove the drum to work on the brakes.

Your photo is showing the inner wheel nut (inner lug nut) not the wheel stud. You need to remove the inner wheel nut to remove the inner dual wheel.

Yes I had not noticed that before. My right studs are labeled r. So I’m guessing to remove them I would turn them to the right?

The inner wheel stud on the left are labeled L. So I am guessing that turning left will remove them?

Also, being a square stud is there a special socket or tool that used to remove them?

Amazon has one that does inner and outer. https://www.amazon.com/Budd-Impact-S.../dp/B07B6DCT63

You can also find one like in the picture that came with the truck.

Generally when there is left hand threads they are marked as such, same with right hand threads.
When something is stamped with the L that means left hand thread, or, lefty tighty righty loosey.

In this instance the right hand thread [ righty tighty, lefty loosey][ marked R ] is on the right side of the vehicle. Therefore, left hand thread [ when marked L ] is on the left side. This done at times to prevent lugs from loosening.

Isn't that just a regular 3/4" socket? It says Budd socket, I am unfamiliar with that term.

No. It's 1 1/2" hex and deeper past the hex part is the square for the
inside nut.

After you get the socket you'll need one of these for by the side of the road tire changes. Photo isn't mine but I do have one just like it (shameless plug) that I never use anymore since I sold my '40 1 1/2 ton. PM me if interested.
