Default 1933 model b pops out of 3 gear into neutral

My car still pops out of 3 gear into neutral sometimes while driving.
Any suggestions?

I am guessing the cause of the transmission popping out of third gear is due to excessive end play in the trans or the springs in the synchronizer are getting weak. I would probably remove the top cover and look for wear on the shift fork. Probably time to refresh the transmission.

On the 33 trans. the center hub of the syncro has to be able to move on the main shaft about 3/16" between 2nd and 3rd. If it hangs up on the main shaft then shifts can not be complete. This could lead to your problem. Suggest you take the top of the transmission off and inspect.

Thanks..sounds like a great starting point. I have to find my van Pelts transmission book..
It has been a while since I looked at it. I am hoping that it is something I can replace, without removing the transmission from the car.
