Default If you haven't been,

You really need to put this on your list. So many "lumpy-lumpy" Flatheads and open exhaust.. Wow.. http://hotrodhillclimb.com/ great follow up on FB if you are on it.

The hill climb has been around for a while but it's finally getting some notice in the last few years. Good deal fun. Watched the maroon 36 get built and run a couple yrs now online. Not to name a standout favorite for me. So many great cars.

Here is Flathead "Candy Store"site. Eric at Go Cat Speed Shop in Colorado builds some sweet flattys.

Click on the "Flathead pg 1" title at the top of the page. Enjoy the photos and when you reach the bottom of the page there are some sound filled videos. Go to the next page and continue to droll.

Turn your speakers up and click on the arrows....Lean back and smile. Chap

They figured out that Pike's peak isn't the only hill to climb.

Thanks for this, would love to attend this event. Much more interesting group of cars than at TROG.

I want to say but I'm not sure, this event goes back a very long time. Believe it's were the twin flathead machine first ran. 39 truck with a motor in front and one in back. I'll have to look for the article. It was a pretty cool hillclimber.

Okay I found it. Not a 39 pickup nor a hill climber, so my bad. Still want to say this one ran hill climbs too as Bill Kenz was out of denver.

I went up that hill with Paul Garagan (Runbulseat) back in 'o6. It's quite a ride, would have liked to have been there during the event.

I believe they said it started in 1953, hence the basic rule of pre 53, but they fudge a bit and allow some in, after they made the trip from what ever.. They have rebuilt, or built a clone of the Kenz Lesley twin.. It was there on show but did not run.. I thik it did run last year and you should be able to find the article on their FB page or web sight

'53? It was a very good year. Anybody know what date in '53 produced the last production flathead?

Don't know exactly off hand. But 1953 was the ford 50th anniversary.

Caught a lot of runs on Instagram this yr. I'm sure the best way to see it is in in the vehicle.. Looks like a ton of fun.

For conversation sake.... Didn't they run after 53 in other countries? I can't give you a hour they stop. But why would I know that. It would be interesting to know however. I'm sure if you started a thread with that question someone that knows would post.

54 was the 1st yr oneoff yr yblocks that came out out at 239cu......

A slide show of the Odd Rod Build From Nick's sight. https://www.carbuffnetwork.com/proje...kenzs-odd-rod/

And yes 54 Meteors, Canadas ford version ran the flat head thru 54, Pretty sure Argentina, Brazil and possibly Europe and Australia had flatties after that. Simca used the 60 well after all of them
