Default Early V-8 National Meet

Is there a national early V-8 national meet this year? If so, where is it? Does the Early V-8 Club of America ever sponsor tours? I guess I need to join.

Tom,
The EARLY V8 CLUBs eastern meet is in Saratoga NY July
11th 12th and 13th. It will be held at the Gideon Putnam Hotel on
the Saratoga Park grounds.
I'm pretty sure Frank Miller will jump in here soon with more
details.

Tom, you really should join. The EFV8C/A is a great organization and the club's magazine, The V8 Times is worth the price of admission alone. The regional groups do tours. It's not too late to sign up and come to the Saratoga Springs meet. Should be a lot of Fordbarners there as well.

Stupid question since they let me join, but 1932 4 cylinders are part of this event right? I am hoping it is my "coming out event" Works out great as my daughter will be doing horse shows in Manchester at that time.

Trev, That would be great if you and the Mrs. could get over again for one of the EFV8C/A National Meets. I had a good time at the Utah meet last Oct. and then driving on to Nor Cal to see the Redwood's and meet up with Vern Tardell and some other Fordbarner's in CA. I'm hoping my next trip west will be to attend the Grand National Meet in Lake Tahoe, Nevada in 2013. Let us know if/when you plan to come over again.

Jim, as long as you have a 32-53 Ford the club accepts 4 cyl., 6 cyl ,and of course V-8s.

Tom, you should join the V-8 Club. If you want to participate in the events(tours, concourse, etc) at a national meet you have to be a national member. As others have said the V-8 Times magazine is well worth the price of admission.

All the info and sign up sheets are here. http://www.earlyfordv8.org/early-ford-meets.cfm

If you like original cars then this is the club to belong to. I wish I had gotten more involved in judging and attending these meets while restoring my 49. There is an abundance of knowledge that people readily share and unlike here you get to see it in person.

Tom, there are some good EFV8C/A regional groups in VA. Also RG36 in MD has some members located in VA. I think if you really enjoy these early Ford's you would also enjoy being a national member as well as a regional member. JMHO

According to the Clubs home page (earlyfordv8.org) the "club recognizes all Ford Motor Company vehicles made between 1932 and 1953, including Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, commercial vehicles, tractors and other Ford powered vehicles built around the world utilizing the 4, 6, 8, and 12 cylinder engines produced by Ford Motor Company". In my experience 25 years ago a lot of people would have turned their noses up at a 4 cylinder but today I find that there is just as much attention paid to a 4 cylinder since most of the cars were "restored" as deluxe V8's..
