Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
Not sure what a good frame goes for in N.C. but, up here in Northern Cal there were some real nice ones at the Auburn, CA swap meet yesterday for $50. Almost can't buy the stock for that price!

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
It's tough to find a good T frame out here. I picked up two frames thinking I could use them as patterns or at least examples. I wouldn't consider using them, way to pitted. I've seen T frames from $100 up to $450 for stock and not much better than what I've got.
So what do folks do if they are traditional and want to use a stock frame? I'really haven't seen any aftermarket frames that haven't been modified.

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
I got to think that you are just out of the Model T loop. Have you joined your local club? What do you do on Sunday mornings when the rest of us are at a swap meet. They are around- just got to get out and beat the bushes. Put an ad on Craig's list.
Good luck! |

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
Funny thing about groups and swap meets in this area, there don't seem to be any. Been here for 10 years and have been to one local swap meet. They must keep that stuff a secret!

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
Moyock13...I agree, I've lived here for 16 years now (Raleigh area) and the only swap meet is Charlotte and now the Goodguys at the fairgrounds in Raleigh, which is all T-shirts, decals, and new chrome valve covers.
I've had my best luck on the internet. I'm pretty much a Model A guy...if you need anything 'A' shoot me an email; I've got lots of spare parts from various Model A projects. Doug/ Wake Forest |

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
The Vintage Ford Magazine (published by the Model T Club of America) lists only one club in N. C. The Tarheel T's in Julian.
Good luck! |

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
You are about 500 miles from Hershey, Pa. I am about the same distance the other way - many collectors from this area go to the fall swap meet there to find early parts.
T frames are not that rare around here but I guess the stairs to my barn loft have become valuable??

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
That would classify them as antique stairs, right?

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
d., how many other members are in our area? Would it be conceivable, if there is interest, to have a little Ford Barn swap meet? I'm just thinking and probably drinking too much coffee this morning!

Re: T Replacement Frame Rails
Put an ad on the T clubs web sites, like the Model T Ford Club or America (mtfca.com) which is very active or Model T Ford Club International (http://www.modelt.org/). You might have a better chance of finding a connection close to you.
