Default thoughts of(for) Medford, OR

Hope everyone is okay in Medford. Sounds like that fire is racing right up the freeway.

There was a town of 300-400 up here in Washington that was something like 90% wiped out. Heavy losses in CA, OR and WA. Like last year wasn't enough!

May our thoughts and prayers be with all the folks that live in the path of the inferno.

Watched maintenance logging get forced out of existence, worked field service for a Caterpillar dealer. Loggers could take a tract, determine dead and dying timber, harvest it and remediate the logging site at a profit,It was good for the forest, prevented fires and provided a basis for the local economy.Power line right of ways and fire breaks were maintained.Environmentalist groups aided by the political ideology out here stopped it,in there zeal to eliminate land management they turned it back over to God,who is very efficient in forestry management, ruthless but efficient.

The town of Blue River is in all sense gone as well as some other smaller towns. Our McKenzie A's president may have lost their model a as they had to leave it behind during evacuation. Said the houses on the other side of the street were burning. Pray for rain! My wife said take the A and leave the modern car as it can be replaced at any dealership. She is a keeper and well loved, the wife and the car!

I live in Nevada near California border. Our 12 acre place was burning when we evacuated.
A Volunteer engine from another county showed up right as we were leaving. They saved the House, Shop and Garage! Thanks guys , you were GREAT.

Everybody!,

Reread Jack Shaft’s post.
What he said is mainly what is wrong with the country.
The people that he is blaming get elected over and over by voters who want to show how liberal they, the voters, are.
Just as an example google “Hank Johnson”. Liston all the way through the video where he talks about Guam tipping over and capsizing.
People who re elect dip sh.....s like him are the real problem.

Jack, it is exactly the same here in Australia. You aren't Robinson Crusoe. Following a big fire an enquiry occurs ( for this read lawyers picnic) and nothing seems to be enacted except more bureaucracy. Common Sense thrown to the wind.

Yes Aarongriffey. People should be banned from political office unless they have done a min of 20 years in a worth while product or wealth producing industry. If they have been to uni read 40 years.
