Christmas.
Well, I'm sitting here watching Carols By Candle Light on TV and Air traffic control is saying Santa has left the North Pole and we're just about ready for the big day tomorrow.
I want to wish everyone the best of the usual seasons greetings and hope the big fella in red brings you that Model A you have been secretly hankering after.

Re: Christmas.
Synchro,
Thank you for your Christmas greeting. We are expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow for Christmas here in northern Ohio. What is Christmas weather in Australia? How does Santa use his sleigh in the southern hemisphere? Merry Christmas to All. Marty |

Re: Christmas.
Thank you for the Merry Christmas. My niece (living and studying in Brisbane) is visiting home (North Carolina) this holiday. I think she left Santa a note during her absence. Fingers are crossed on that Model A.

Re: Christmas.
For unto us this day in the city of David a child was born. Celebrating the blessing.
No snow expected in Tucson AZ. Santa must drive a dune buggy. |

Here he is enroute to our homes as we speak. I know you all was good this year! I can remember being overseas and listing to NORAD on the radio. Christmas night on 1962 I was 90 miles south of the North Pole (All locations are south of the North pole). I looked to see him go by and talked to him on the sideband radio. The men and women serving in route radio stations were sure glad to talk to us that night! We could not tell them who/what we were but we knew stuff like sports scores and home town news, etc. (IO might add a special "God Bless" to the folks at Cedar Rapids. They were always on the air somehow to take out positions and info. Merry Christmas clem Last edited by Clem Clement; 12-24-2017 at 01:01 PM. |

Re: Christmas.
I might add: did any of you work at Cedar Rapids at Rockwell/Collins radio? They built great radios and seemed to have a center where they were readable from any place on the globe. "Hello Cedar Rapids; please take our report and what was the score of the game?"

Re: Christmas.
I would like to wish all my fellow "Barners" a very Merry Christmas. I hope everyone gets to spend it with their loved ones & travels safely to see them.
I have been blessed to be able to set my transport schedule accordingly to spend some well deserved time at home to see family that I don't get to see very often. As well as working on a few of my toys! To all the dozens of members who used my service in this past year, I appreciate your business, loved meeting each & every one of you & consider you all my "car friends"!! God Bless Bill Squires(owner) Bill's Auto Works https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/

Tomorrow is Boxing Day. That's when things get more interesting for the adults. The traditional Boxing Day cricket match starts at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) and the Sydney - Hobart Yacht race starts. Both were a tradition decades before I drew my first breath. For you guys in the US who don't know anything about the world's biggest bat and ball sport, a cricket test match is between international teams and lasts 5 days. The current series is against the English team, though they needn't have shown up! It is a "best of 5" series, this being the 4th game.
