Re: new engine start-up
The 406 3x2 engine is set up with progressive linkage so as long as you keep your foot out of it, it will run on just the center carb. Make all your idle mixture & idle speed adjustments on the center carb.

Re: new engine start-up
pull all spark plugs and turn engine over with the starter till you have oil pressure, or if you have the tool to prime it manually with a electric drill use it till you have oil pressure reading

Make sure you have the correct motor oil in it, then follow instructions of Ford3.

Re: new engine start-up
Add a full bottle of Lucas ZDDP to the oil for breakin or you risk wiping a cam lobe or lifter. Use a good brand of oil also. Not that crappy s**t those morons on Gas Monkey used to ruin a fresh motor.
