Default Starter thoughts

I am wondering if anyone had tried this. I just completed the work of wrapping the exhaust and starter with exhaust wrap to combat the starter heating to failure problem. Have not test drove yet. The exhaust is wrapped where it passes the starter.

Common practice with stock type starters, especially with headers.
Usually not needed with gear drive starters due to more clearance.

Methinks if the starter is properly rebuilt and you have the stock exhaust, there is absolutely no need for what you'd done.
