Scuff plates
Has anybody run in to fit problems with the metal scuff plates in a 1940 ford coupe from carpenter.

Re: Scuff plates
Nope, not a once. The rubber is too long, which is a good thing in my opinion. Being too long, they can be trimmed perfectly to fit.

Re: Scuff plates
Will this help? This is on a 40 coupe. The floor pan bolt with washer shown in Photo 6 is not OEM. Board covers and scuff plates are from DRAKE many years ago. Carpenters are probably the same.

One thing I do as soon as they arrive is to bind the rubber over and let them sit for a few weeks. That way, the rubber seal will obtain a memory of where it should sit. Makes the eventual installation so much easier.
