One of the early Ford transmission specialists, Van Pelt sales, recommended to me Sta-lube 140 or 75w90 depending on which one you can find. My local NAPA was able to order mine. I went with 140. I have no experience with it yet. I am sure you will get more options or recommendations from those with real experience.

Very important to use 85-140 GL4 gear lube. Be sure it has the API rating of "GL4". The additive package in the GL4 lube does not attack the bronze bushings or synchronizers.

Sta-Lube 85-90 ordered from NAPA. It’s GL-4 and works great for me.

Wow, I just checked the price. $78 for a gallon. I guess fossil fuel inflation has caught up to their products.

Crude oil is around $2/gallon
