Default 32 top iron header clamps

Does anyone know if original 32 roadster top iron header clamp is cast iron or steel? Thanks

The header that attaches to the header bow in two places on each end or the thumb screw that attaches the header bracket to the top of the windshield post?

IMHO, cast steel or cast with a very malleable iron. I have a original 1930-31 Deluxe top iron (very similar to 1932) which has a bent ear for header mounting. If it were gray cast iron it would almost certainly have broken rather than bent.

One would likely to have to have a copy of the original engineering specifications for a positive determination, or a competent metallurgical analysis of an original. There is also a possibility that Ford did not tightly specify the material, and if there were multiple suppliers, that some were iron and some steel... diligent research needed.

Girtz reproductions, (later Superior Car Parts) corner brackets were cast bronze and not symmetrical side to side.

I have some reproduction ones on hand in 304 stainless, investment cast.

My guess is cast steel as they are pretty durable.
