Siamesed gas line
Is there a market any more for the "siamesed" fuel line for a 1933-1934 Ford?
I have my original to get rid of but do not really want to put it in the dumpster. I was told that it could be "rolled" up and stored or shipped but I really think that would cause damage to it. So therefore, I have left it as it was removed but it is now in the way. Shippers are so picky nowadays so that hassle arises when I try to get a price to ship it. Thank you. |

Re: Siamesed gas line
I do know these are reproduced correctly but are costly. A used line? Not so certain any serious restorer - the only guy that might be interested in a "correct" line, would go to all the trouble of searching out a correct line and installing a very old - used piece. Nope, I'd say if a guy is serious enough to care about the correct line, he's serious enough to buy a correct reproduction. My .02¢ anyway...

Re: Siamesed gas line
Bloody hell, don't throw that away, they are hard to find and the repros cost hundreds to buy. Some one will want it for a restoration. Leave it straight if possible but it could carefully rolled up in a large loop for shipping. You should have left it in your car and got it working, not hard to do. Regards, Kevin

Re: Siamesed gas line
I bought the gas line and the hydro line separate with fittings from Macs I think. They came with fittings and the price was gobs less than the one all made up. I just soldered them together. Ken

There is value in having a used line for a pattern of bends when installing a new one. |
