Re: 31 Roadster wood floor pattern
It’s been ages since I worked on roadster
How are those pieces different than others? I understand left brake etc Are they the same as all 30-31 model a?? It’s not that easy to find solid core quality plywood....at least for me it is these days Last edited by Oldbluoval; 11-21-2020 at 03:22 PM. |

Re: 31 Roadster wood floor pattern
The biggest difference is most commercially available reproduction floorboards are the incorrect thickness.

Re: 31 Roadster wood floor pattern
This is where a drum sander comes in handy. The ¾" Plywood has a nominal thickness ²³⁄₃₂" which is 0.719", and the ¹¹⁄₁₆" Plywood should have a finish size of around 0.687". That means if we remove about 15-thousands off each side of the ¾" Plywood, then we have the proper thickness.
Where I am struggling is trying to make ½" (0.500") Plywood for Station Wagon bodies. The print calls for a ⅜" birch core with two ¹⁄₁₆" birch veneers laminated. |
