Default 1941 11-A Distributor Cam Plate

Is the Detent in the outer edge of this 11-A cam plate there for a reason or is it it a blend out of damage?

That is a blem, I’ve run across a couple like that and the plate needs to be replaced as it will rip the leather pad off the vacuum brake plunger

It took me a while to get an 11-A core to rebuild and Iím unsure Iílll be able to get another here. Do you see any problem with welding up the damage area and reprofiling to original contour? I am in New Zealand at the moment waiting for the Australian Queensland borders to re open, great place to isolate.

Ramjet I believe that would work if it’s perfect workmanship. Then polish with no rough spots. You couldn’t be Quarantined in a better place. Eat all the fish n chips you can for me please.
