Re: 1929 STEEL BACK 60C Blind Back HISTORY
Very nice car Brent, I"ll bet that shows well. I'm a retired AACA judge with no "Fine Point" training. Is the center hood hinge to frame height the same on these cars with the firewall filler piece as it it is on standard 28-29 bodies? I week ago I knew very little about this body style, now I want to rebuild one, what a sickness. Was this the first Ford body to have a solid rear section? The two vertical machine welds are very impressive to me.

I have a 29 60 C that I am considering selling. It is an early restoration and considered a good driver (except I haven't driven it for a year!) I'm not sure of it's value or of this models demand. Can you give me any thoughts Gary N San Diego

Just won this Factory Photo on eBay and it arrived today. I really like the looks of this body style.

Re: 1929 STEEL BACK 60C Blind Back HISTORY
we have a rear section that was modified for a door. I think it was a pickup body at some time. Very heavy. A gentleman was interested in it at turlock a year ago, but must have fabricated what he needed. Bob

Re: 1929 STEEL BACK 60C Blind Back HISTORY
In looking at the photos , if I am correct, most seem to be Briggs bodies; Paul Long and Bruce Robinson both have Briggs bodys, steel back, blind back sedans. The top is an insert like the top on a coupe and does not come down to the rain gutter on the sides. The original wood that Paul Long has is for this Briggs body.

Re: 1929 STEEL BACK 60C Blind Back HISTORY
Ron, that type of blind back (with an insert top) was what replaced the 60C body in late 29, and it is numbered 170-A. The 60C body is a very interesting design, and is shorter than the 170-A. You can read about this in DeAngelis and Francis' book.
