Default crank bolt

to replace pulley and balancer on a 59AB, do I remove the crank bolt clockwise or counter?

You're welcome.


The engine will probably turn over when you try to remove the bolt but not if you use an impact wrench.

Although Glenn's suggestion should suffice, merely placing the trans in 3rd gear ought to offer more than enough resistance to get the bolt loose.
