Default Resurfacing a pressure plate

Does the pressure plate need to be taken apart before resurfacing?

I am not aware of anyone resurfacing them anymore-at least in the bay area that I have found. But if the picture that I saw is correct them yes you have to dismantle it so that they can put it on a lathe.

Yes. The plate needs to be parallel to the springs, and anyone with a flywheel grinder with a turntable can do them. They are clamped to the turntable and then ground.

If you ever get a chance, go watch a clutch rebuilder in action. IT'S AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I once worked part time for one! And once as a "professional" PICKLE TASTER.
