Default '36 1/2 ton pick up cab dimensions

Hey folks,

Got a question on where a guy would find original cab dimensions. Such as a body shop would use to pull a crashed cab back into spec.

My truck was apparently hit many years ago on the right side. The front fender front brace is bent and has been replaced, and the frame x member on that side is 'wrinkly". but mostly, the dash board is cock-eyed and not straight, like the passenger side A pillar is mashed in a bit.

The right side perforated post itself is somewhat mashed as well and the cowl side is oil canned. I can fix it all, but I need the cab specs for squaring it up and aligning the posts.

Anyone got any idea where I could find that information? Did Ford ever make any crash info up on these?

So in an effort to make it easier for all to see what I'm looking for, I have taken the following information from what I hope is an untouched Driver side door opening.

If any of you folks can take a little time sometime and take some measurements on your trucks, I'd appreciate it.

Mike

I can get you some "X" measurements later today across the door openings and from some points inside the cab...in effect you want to "square" up the cab...like a frame..I'd assume?

Mike,

Yes exactly. I can't trust any measurements as it was so crunched on the rt side in the past.

I'd also like a measurement between the A pillars. My dash is so scrunched it is warped, so a real dimension such as between the top of the hinges so I can see where it is and what it is supposed to be.

Thanks Mike for any help you can offer.

Unfortunately my camera charge cable is missing...so you'll have to visualize this

I have no kick panels on the inner cab sides, so under the dash in the corenr, heading down to the floor are a series of holes.

With my tape put in the bottom of the upper hole and measuring diagonally down to the lower from for the door jamb, is 49 inches (both ways).

Should give you a start...will find the cable..take more measurements with pics to help you visualize things better.

Where abouts are you located...if near..welcome to stop by!

Mike,

Thanks for the help. It is appreciated.

I'm north of Seattle, WA. You are welcome to "drop by" but it looks like a hell of a long drive.
